Bicentennial schedule to organize activitiesThe Sikeston Bicentennial Commission has requested that all organizations and individuals schedule local Bicentennial activities through it to avoid conllicts. Jim Wenneker. chairman ol the commission. Ivts announced.Wenneker explained that a calendar will be kept at the City Administrative Building and priority for activity dates will be given to those scheduled first He added that the commission is trying to prevent the scheduling ol several activities on the sameday.W\-He urged anyone planning projects to get started early andnot wait until next summer when man activities will be taking place in connection with the nations Bicentennial celebrationWenneker said persons interested in participating in the Bicentennial should leave their name at the City Administrative Building, and they will be contacted lor future projects.The local commission will also provide suggestions for Bicentennial projects to interested groups and individuals.Some projects planned for Sikeston include a museum and art gallery, children’s museum, research of Indian sites, renovation and preservation ofhistorical markers and compilation ol a history ol the Sikeston area in book formCommission members include Mrs. Clinton Scott.
