They will be invited to register, wear a “guest” ribbon, and as many as possible will be introduced over the Public Address system during the afternoon.Many of the former Bedford residents will have relatives with whom they will be visiting. Others will be present wanting places, to stay during their visit. A committee is finding such places for them. Everyone attending the basket dinner is asked to bring food for one extra, and that will take care of those guests not otherwise provided for.42 P. M.—Official opening of Bedford's 3-day Centennial celebration by Governor William S. Beardsley of Iowa, who ^ will be introduced by Atty. James A. Lucas.3 p4 m.—Announcement of selection of King and Queen of theCentennial, and their crowning, followed by—Awarding ribbons in the Whisker Contest and the presentation of the Centennial ladies, “The Sisters of the Swish,”Special music by the local Barber Shop Quartet,Some contests for the boys and girls with cash prizes Awarded,8 P. M.—Free Dance, round and square, on street we^t side of court yard, with special orchestra, and specialty numbers at intermissionsFriday, July 3 — (See Route Map)10 A. M.—Parade of floats and miscellaneous entries from town and country through the business section, entered by (business firms and organizations and neighboring towns. TTigh school marching hands will participate, as well as the colorful highly trained and unusual Oriental Shrine Band from Des Moines. Moila Shrine’s -Mounted Patrol from Maryville will also participate. There will be the greatest array of entries by Saddle Clubs from all overthis porton of the state ever brought together in a townOf this size.1 -30 P M —AT THE FAIR GROUNDS — Free Horse Show,participated in by the Saddle Clubs here for the parade. There will he racing, Stage Coach holdups, exhibitions of highly trained society show horses and the comedy, thrills and excitment of old poneer days. Registration of aU honfpg for competition will be at Fair Grounds at 1 P. M.8 P M.
