Thirty-five junior and senior girls from Keokuk Senior high school have been the girls. However, the needpracticing weekly in the back has n°f ye* arisen.ages monthsfourand twoyears while she instructsyard of the Wesley Pohorsky residence. The group will make its debut at the first Chief football game this fall — marching, dancing, and performing pom pon routines.Auditions for the group were held this spring at the high school and every girl who tried out was accepted. It is hopeful that at least 25 will be performing this fall. Membership is limited to thegirls in the junior and seniorclass.The group is being directed by Mrs. Wes Pohorsky on a volunteer basis. Among other qualifications, Mrs. Pohorsky lists her four years dancing and playing experience with 1he S.U.l. Scottish Highland-All shapes and sizes are present in the group, but the uniform selected is suited to any figure. The outfit includes a flashy purple A-line mini dress with Indian fringe, and an Indian head band complete with feathers. Money for these uniforms is being provided by interested individuals and businesses as well as fund raising projects sponsored by the girls.The first of these projects will be a bake sale held inconjunction with the Booster Club’s Strawberry ShortcakeSocial, ?’riday, July 11, at the high school.Typically female, the girls have not yet decided on a name for their group.
