His meteoric rise to stardom in movies and on tv began when he played a marimba number on frying pans in a benefit show in his home town of San Antonio. Seen there by Walter O’Keefe, big time tv producer, Pedro was invited to Hollywood to appear on the “You Bet Your Life” tv show.He immediately became a sensational new comedy star. Since then he has gained a long list of credits for movies such as Rio Bravo with John Wayne, The High and The Mighty, Strange Lady in Town, Wings of the Hawk, The Sheepman, Gun the Man Down and Ben-gazi.His tv appearances include the Jimmy Durante Show, Sheriff of Cochise, Arm' Southern Show, Tennessee Ernie Ford Show, Hudson Bay, Gunsmoke,_. — _ _ .. - — _ - - lt;Healdton, Fox Drives Are SetHEALDTON (Special)-Marchof Dimes Porchlight Drives willbe held this week in Healdton and Fox.Members of Healdton High School’s Future Homemakers of America club will conduct the drive Tuesday night in Healdton. Mrs. Adren Poteet, FHA adviser, will sponsor the girls, according to Mrs. Jo Davis, March of Dimes Chairman.Bluebird and Campfire girls will conduct the drive Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the Fox area. He was born in 1926 in a tent dressing room at Aguilares, Texas, used by his mother, La Perla Franteresa, a dancer bom in Mexico, and his father, a native Texan, who played a trumpet in the shows orchestra.Pedro now lives in Culver City, Calif., with his wife and three children. He owns his home and likes to cook enchiladas and hamburgers with hot sauce.This will be the 10th anniversary for Ardmore’s Shrine Club rodeo, and Jean Neustadtand Scott King, co-chairmen of the rodeo committee are promising an even greater show.
