.iiu'frtry/Washington township is to have9 •1 *another consolidated school, the♦ ,. asecond one in the county. Themembers of the advisory board met Wednesday afternoon and heard a petition asking for the construction of another consolidated school building and the board found that the need for such a building is so urgent that it gave- the petition its approval, which is the preliminary step in the construction of'the new building.The new school will he built in the neighborhood of the Cosby deer park northeast of the city on the Bedford road, which is believed to be the most suitable location. It is said that the building will haveito be larger than the present consolidated school building in order to accommodate the pupils. It will be for the use of pupils living in Washington township north of the B. 0. Southwestern railroad who do notn *attend consolidated school number1. No plans and specifications have been prepared yet for the newstructure but it is believed the cost of the building will be hetwreen $15,000 and $20,000.When built the new school will do away with six smaller schools which are distributed around over the northeast quarter of the township. These schools are the Agan,iWat hen, Chelsea, Eads, Sugarland and Lettsville. The pupils from these schools will all attend the new consolidated school.There was practically no opposi-4n to the new school either among e patrons or the members of the dvisory board, the plan having pro-ressed thus-far with the least pos-• ’ ‘ble friction. Active work on thens were only started last Monday.
