Tells Of OperationOf HospitalJohn Green, administrator for Guernsey Memorial Hospital, was the main speaker at the Monday noon meeting of the Cambridge Lions Club at the Berwick Hotel.' He gave a detailed talk on the hospital, telling of various problems involved in its operation and spoke of the forming of the group that financed the construction of the building.He stated that some 7,000 persons donated $1 or more to the building fund. There are now 21 directors with terms of a third of them expiring each year. j [Over $800,000 was raised to build the hospital and at present there is one and one-half million dollars invested in the building and equipment.Mr. Green pointed out that the hospital has room for 110 adult beds and 22 bassinets. “It is not supported by any city or county taxes and does a half million dollar business each year, with two-thirds of this amount being payroll,** he said. “Some two-thirds of the supplies used are purchased locally*He also presented a financial report for October, which he stated was a typical month. During that month 486 patients were treated, 53 babies delivered, 71 blood donors and 140 ' operations, The hospital took m $47,000 and charged $54,000. •Mr. Green further stated that no one has ever been refused treatment while he has been administrator. !President Walter Fairchild j conducted the business session j” and Robert P.
