“Union Depot”Kenyon Nicholson had a hand inmaking the picture “Union Depot.’That will explain the presence of a great deal of the picture’s realism.Douglas Fairbanks Jr., and JoanBlonaell are the principal characters in the story, and that will account for the excellence of the acting. The setting of the story is a novel one—and that, combined with the above-mentioned virtues, may account for the picture’s popularity. At any rate, “Union Depot” is a fast-moving and entertaining picture. The entire action takes place in a railroad station—presumably the Union Station in Chicago. The trouble is all started when a hobo finds a checking ticket and redeems it for a violin case full of counterfeit money. With it he poses as a gentleman and helps a beautiful lady in distress. She is arrested when she innocently passes some of the counterfeit money—and the amateur gentleman plays Sir Loch-invar a second time. This, of course, involves him in the clutches of the law—and how he gets out of it you will enjoy better if you haven’t read about it.
