BILLIE JO WI LMON is happy as alark on her new job in the Sheriff's department Last week, eightof Lufkin's lady bridge players journeyed to Houston for the Houston Mid-Winter Sectional Bridge Tournament. BLANCHE BROWDFR and SARA ROPER placed second in their section, while BILLIE BOB CARSON and ALICE WILLIFORD took a fourth place. LORFNE GARTMAN and MICKEY PATTERSON teamed up, as did FLORALEVY and HELEN CHRISTIE. lufkln was well represented TheLufkin Women's Bowling Association is now holding its Sixth Annual Tournament at the Lufkin Lanes. The tournament continues throughthis weekend. Currently In the leading spots are the LaNell’a BeautyShop in team events. The doubles spot finds BETH PARKER and GLENDA MEADOWS in the lead. Glenda Is also ahead in the singles, while JOANN PERRYMAN Is leading In the ail events. If you want to see some good bowling, journey out this weekend and watch theladies finish up the tourney.
