Hearing in prison burning case todayMOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (UPI)—A preliminary hearing will be held Friday for a state penitentiary inmate accused of the burning death of a fellow prisoner earlier this month.The hearing before Justice of the Peace Mary Alice Knouse will be for James Auxier, 50. of Cabell County. He is to be formally charged with the death of Charles Townsend.Townsend was critically burned in his cell New Year's Day and died five days later.wAuxier also faces earlier charges of the stabbing death of prisoner Raymond Harper of Elkview last summer and the attempted stabbing of another inmate.He is serving a one-to-10 year term for armed robberv.
