t 'Carrie Calder New Member Of OrcbesiBCarrie Calder, daughter of Mr, and Mr a. Leo Calder, Vernal, is among the twenty-seven pew members who were initiated in the Brigham Young University chapter of Orchesis, national dance group, January 14 at 0:15 p.m. in the Women's Cym. Announcement of the initiation was 4nade this week by Shirley Ririe, director of the dance group.All new members of the Chapter were members of the Junior Orchesls, where they trained preparatory to try*outs held at the end of the fall quarter. To earn their position in the group they danced an original composition, an original abstraction, and various studies and technique of the dance.Another try-out will be held the middle o! the winter quarter. and an exceptional concert will be presented during spring quarter.Officers of the group for the year are Garth Uibei, ML View, Alberta, Canada, president; De-Lora Warble, Tremonton, Vice-president; and Pat Boyle, Long Beach, California, secretary, Mrs. Birie is a welt-known figure in the field of modem , dance, And a popular concert I and television artist.
