MISS MARGUERITE CLARK HERE IN SNOW WHITEAT PARAMOUNT THEATERO o nt h * »c charming picture? that has ever been seen at the Paramount theatre will appear there to-[ day when Marguerite Clark stars* in the Famous Players adaptation of the beloved fairy tale, “Snow White,” which is the Paramount attraction for the week. “Snow White” was directed by J. Searle Dawley, who haspresided over all of Miss Clark's mostrecent successes. It will be remembered that Miss Clark starred in the stage adaptation of the Grimm Brothers’ tale, under the personal direction of Winthrop Aires, at the Little theatre, where the { delightful play remained for two seasons. Mr. Am.es very kindly placed himself at the disposal of the Famous Players in so far as his experience with the stage production was concerned, and loaned the producers al! j the costumes which were used in the; stage presentation of the story. jRealizing how important the seven littie dwarfs would be in the picture.Director Dawley spent a great deal of time in obtaining the services of seven real midgets. The adaptation of a fairy story for the screen affords the producer an excellent opportunity to employ the art of photography in depicting with scenes and other mystifying phenomena which can be reproduced on the screen with the greatest j possible effect. In this respect the!photoplay version of “Snow White” will undoubtedly approach more closely the fascination of the original Grimm story than did the stage play, which was necessarily limited in its magic effects.Among those who appear in sup- j port of Miss Clark in “Snow White’ j are Creighton Hale. Dorothy G. Cum-j ming, Lionel Braham and Alice Washburn.
