Bert is working with his brother Johnston at Defiance.Link Rose and brother have moved their saw mill on to Thomas Doho-ney’s farm on,the South side of the canal. They will saw lumber and railroad ties for Thomas. Melvin Karr is their sawyer.Geo. Hasselsmith was seriouslv injured while helping Geo. Copper move one of his buildings. He got caught under one of the boats and had both ankles sprained and two of his toes unjointed. He will not be able to do much the rest of the winter.
