Type UnionMembers of the Waco Typographical Union 188 celebrated the 100th anniversary of their national association with a dinner and awards program Saturday night at the Lee Lockwood Library.Lecil Parker, Jr.,president of the local union, presided during the awardsprogram.Service awards were presented by ITU Representative Rex Williams.Hono.ed for 50 years of service were Tommy Gaulding and C.M. Woodliff. Receiving pins for 40 years of service were Walter Bell, Noble Hieronymus, Joe Kreitz, Jr. and H.F. McDonald .Larry Budy, Carl Brown,CelebratesRoger Jones, Don Lummus and Hank Muhlman received 25 years pins.Parker gave a brief history of the local union, and Baylor students presented a variety of music for entertainment.TPL Agent With KiwanisA power company scientist and engineer, Orlan L. Ihms, will speak to Waco Kiwanis today at noon at Sherwood Forest Inn.A former science teacher, Ihms is an educational consultant with Texas Power Light Company. He developes energy-oriented material for distribution to classroom teachers.
