FOGO HAS_A BAND.THE S.U.F. of Fogo held their an nual procession at that town on Xmas Day, headed by their own brass bandconsisting of the following instruments : Two cornets, two trombones, basso, baritone, tenor, euphonium and three drums, tenors and basso The society was delighted at the great progress made in such a sh‘rt time by the bandsmen, for it was »»n'y on Nov. 2nd last that the band was fully organized by Master Thomas Bennett of St. John s, who went to Fogo for that purpose. Master Bennett, who is a son of Prof John Bennett, this city, on reaching Fogo immediately set to teach the young fishermenWho Proved to be Apt Pupils.During the practices he performed on the cornet and the men under his training made rapid progress, as was evident to the society on Chri«tmas morning during the parade. MasterBennett deserves the highest praise for his musical ability He is only 18 years of age and has a bright future before him no doubt in the musical line The residents of Fogo wish him every success.
