\In Forum Art Classn\Artist-Teacher Brings Out Students' TalentsMonday evenings are sacred to a group of art students.an instruction in public schools Oi Humboldt County, Calif., m 1955. He taught classes in Vernon and at the Forum last year, and will be teaching again at the Wichita Falls Museum and Art Center beginning next month. He resigned that position to become head ofIs a satisfying avocation,Bodkin likes the trenddFmore and more art associations in smaller towns.“Whereas once upon a time students wanting instruction might have to leave their small towns, they now have their own art associations and classes, and many fine artists are developing as a result,” he says.CONCENTRATING — Three Jon Bodkin’s art• •Students at the Woman’s Forum shown in their Monday evening art class are Mrs. Sadie Bailey,Mrs. Cora Dell Miller and Mrs. Claudia Estes. They are working in acrylics and oils.Bodkin, still represented on the West Coast hv a gallery. is contemplating having his works represented also by galleries in Dallas. He has had numerous one-man shows in California, the most recentbegin in Ferbdale, and his paintings were exhibited at the Forum last November.the College of Arts and Cr.afU in Oakland, Calif., and has a second master’s degree in art education from San. Fran-cisco^tate^College. He has^ been an instructor in these colleges, as well as at Humboldt State College, College of the Redwoods in Eureka, -and Stanford University. ------The Monday evening o class Is sponsored by the Wichita Falls Art Association. The Association also has exhibits twice monthly in the Woman’s Forum Art Gallery, and evening programs,the second Tuesday each month. Art appreciation study groups meet the third Wednesday each month.
