A Notable Gathering. One of the largest anil most pleasant receptions ever held in this city, was given by Mr. and Mrs. John 0. Kratzer on yesterday evening. Aver two hundred guests were present, and comprised the greater part of our most, prominent citizens. The residence is admirably adapted for the purpose, being large, convenient and finely furnished. The enjoyment commenced with an elegant repast at seven o’clock, and did not abate a jot during the remainder of the evening. Indeed, the refreshments were of such a delicious character, that the taere reflection on their tempting qualities would have constituted hours of solid enjoyment. Miss Rose Wilson contributed some fine piano solos, and Mrs. Belle Stratemeyer. of Cincinnati, sang several songs in such a sweet and entrancing voice that the applause fairly overwhelmed her. Those who were so inclined gathered about the card tables, and others, gentlemen of course, retired to a quiet room and discussed some choice cigar*.
