From the sublime to the ridiculous, it can be found at Fair Finds, according to manager LouiseStribling.Run by the women of the All SaintsAnglican Church on Fairfield Street, Fair Finds literally holds a year round garage sale. It is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The women sell anything from used English riding boots, to china pitchers, to used clothing. One of their most unusual requests was for aitit, Mrs. Stribling said That’s what’s greatknow what’s going to come in. V had one request for a goat f Father’s Day. The woman wantedtheshe laughed. Oddlygrass,’the gals at Fair Finds found someone who sold goats in Wagener and sent the customer there.LOUISE STRIBLING Finds Treasures■ motFair Finds is a simple wooden frame building located next door to Fairfield Antiques and was once a tavern called “The Bell Garden.”The 60-year-old building once owned by Mr. and Mrs. Missouri Pollard of Aiken has also served as a candy store. Deep grooves are worn into the front brick steps which Mrs.Stribling said were made during the tavern’s heyday. Mrs. Pollard lives across the street and is a frequent visitor to Fair Finds, Mrs. Stribling said.The shop is now brimming with odds and ends donated or brought on consignment from the community.Few empty spaces are to be found and even the old tavern benches have been put to use at Fair Finds. A small wood burning stove has been died when it came in because it tookadded in the back of the main room, up so much room, but it went rightA long hallway hung with clothes and a back storage room (out back) have been dubbed the French Roam and the Australia. But because of the lack of any heating besides the stove and very little insulation, the backroom has been temporarily named Siberia.little by little the women erf All Saints and other workers are filling in the cracks between the slats of the wooden building and trying to insulate it. When we first moved in here, you could literally see daylight through the back wall,’’ Mrs. Stribling said of the front room.“But we have a good time.
