Rader, age K2 years, a veil known and highly respected res-dent of Creenca8tle, passed awaySaturday night about 10;:i0 o’clock it her home on east Walnut street 'ollowing an extended illness.Miss Rader was born May 2a, 1852 icar Unionvllle. Monroe county, the j laughter of Thomas Y. and Nancy Jane Rader, and was one of a large, family born in the same farm home.With other members of the family die attended what was then and is still known as the Honey Creek school in Marion township in Monroe county.She prepared herself for the profession of teaching and was recognized as one of the most capable and successful teachers of that early day.The country church in the neighborhood where she grew up was from her early life, next to her home, the dearest spot of all to her. It. was there that she was converted and united with the church.In 1 HSR she moved with the family to Greencastle. The Rader home was on Locust street where the university administration building now standsShe with other members of the household transferred her membership from the obi Shiloh church on the Bloomington circuit, to the locust Street M K. Church in this city. When the merger of the Locust Street and College Ave. churches was made a few years ago her membership was included in the new church where it remained. She has had a continuous membership in the M K.church in this city for more than 50years. Until her recent illness seldom a Sunday passed that she was not present at one or more of the servicesof the day.She was a life member of the W. F.M. Society and was deeply interested in all the work of the society. She was also a member of the Woman's Bible Class and club of the Cobin Memorial M. E. Church of this city. Every activity of the church was to her a source of interest and she gave to them all her hearty support so far as her time and strength and financial ability would permitHer last sickness and the spirit in which it was endured was a fine example of the actual reality of a genuine Christian experience.The surviving members of the family are her two sisters who lived with her, Sallie Rader and Mrs. Etta Le Fleur, and the Rev. W. S. Rader, a retired Methodist minister living in Franklin. A number of nieces andnephews reside in this and other states.Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the ( home. Dr. A. E. Monger and Dr. H.B. Longden will be in charge.
