It calls for a public exhibit of ' lt;31 arts and crafts to be held in London the last two weeks of February.Soldier art, to include oil, pastel and water-color paintings, sketches in charcoal, pencil or ink, cartoons, sculpture work in stone, clay or wood^ and crafts, to include miniatures, plane models, woodworking, metal or leather work, and hospital crafts, to include weaving, are now being sought by Special Service officers and Red Cross field workers.Entries from both amateurs and pro-fessionals are being encouraged, and officials expect to be able to show at least one example of each contributor’s work.Supervision of the London Exhibit will be. under the direction of the Special Service Division, SOS, and entries will be accepted from any officer or enlisted man in the U.S. Armed Forces in this theater. These should be in the hands of The Stars and Stripes, or the American Red Cross, Rainbow Corner, London, by the second week in February.* Those contributing should forward, together with their entries, name, unit and APO, native state and city, occupation in civilian life, reasons for choice of subject-matter, and any other details desired for publicity purposes. It is hoped that the London Exhibit will encourage the soldier artist to record for posterity his impressions of a world at war. Such a contribution will not only assist in widening a program of arts-and crafts as recreation, but will be of lasting value in the years of peace to come.
