Mr. Sunday to Joplin ha* given an impetus to church workers never before experienced In the city,” a clergyman said last night. “The results of tl«** tabernacle meetings haveIn the last two weeks been eminently satisfactory. Among the new converts are many who heard Mr. Sunday and have been deeply impressed. Frank Neff Is pastor. V/l new* additions to the church were had. Mr. XetT preached at the morning meetingon “Christianity a Family Religion. At the conclusion of his sermon, an alignment of virile arguments, 78 person* responded to bis call for convert* and members. They included men whose wives already are members. The evening sermon was by Kcv. J. P. Walker of the Byers Avenue M. E. church. It was an old-time Methodist meeting, resulting in 49 additions to the church.With the largest congregation which has ever attended Sunday school at the Byers Avenue M, E. church, services were held in Shoemaker hsll, Fifteenth and Main strict*. At both morning and evening services tho hall was taxed to Its capacity. Fifty-three new members were recel\ed into the church, and five conversions wrought. With the exception of Wednesday night, revival nervine* will be conducted for the remainder of the week. They will be led by the Rev. Mr. Elayer, pastor of the church.“Prayer” was the theme of a sermon preached Sunday at the First Christian church by the Rev. F. F. Wallers. At the evening service he delivered an address on “Temple Building. Twenty-seven members were enrolled on the church's roster, making a total for last week of 47. Services will be held every night this week except tomorrow evening.Thirteen baptism* and four conversion* were had at both services Sunday fit the Central Christian church. At the morning session, the Rev. L. L. Combs delivered a sermon on “Christina* Application.” In the evening he spoke of the “Three Fundamental Principles of Religion.” In all la*t week 80 additions to the church were had. Revival services will be conducted this evening, Thursday and Friday nights. The Rev. Mr. Miller of Diamond, Mo., who has accepted a call to the Central Christian church, will preach Friday night.At the First Congregational church 3*5 new members were received Sunday morning. The Rev. Mr. Parker delivered a strong sermon, the subject of which was the “Highest Hood. Thirty-six new members were received into the church. The Christian Endeavor Society of the church is arranging for a recital some time in February by the Drury CollegeGlee Club.With an attendance of 156. the largest class ever held In the Sunday school department of the East Joplin Congre-Jational church, was conducted sun* ay. The evening sermon was preached by the Rev. S. A. Willard. He took for his subject, “Should Not a People Seek Unto Their God? The annual meeting of the church members will be held Thursday night. Thirty-seven new members have been received.Following a Sunday school service alt;the Lutheran Evangelical church the Rev. Louis RHdel preached in Germanon missionary work. He delivered an English sermon in the evening. A meeting of the Luther society will be held at the parsonage Thursday evening.“Wrestling Jacob and “Standing Square for Jesus were the subjects of sermon* delivered by the Rev. C. M.Davenport Sunday at the First Methodist Episcopal church. Seventh street and Moffet avenue. Both morning and evening services were well attended. Tt was reported that fifty new members have joined the chit ch since the conclusion of th* tabernacle meetings. For the evening meetings which will be held for the remainder of the week. Mr. Davenport will be assisted by the Rev. A. R. Faris of Webb City. More than 300 persons attended flic Sunday school class. Revival services will be held every night this week.The pulpit of the North Heights Presbyterian church was filled Sunday night by Dr. R„ T.
