The event was celebrated at 3:00 Friday at the factory with cake and punch and the presentation of a gift of appreciation from the company by Rog Knutson, Vice-President in charge of production who came down from Portland, Oregen. Mayor Beaird and Mel Hayes, President of the Chamber of Com merce both gave short talks parising White Stag for its part in the community. White Stag, which bought the factory in 1970 and has a half mil- , lion dollar payroll per year, made the retirement plan retroactive all the way back to 1H.VJ when the plant first started operation.« Rose started to work as a single needle operator on Ladies Clam Diggers on Sept-l ember 24, 1950. She can do ! most any single needle oper-| ation, but her main job has ; been finishing bards.Hose was born in Arkansas,‘ but moved to Oklahoma as a !'\«»ung child. She has lived * in tius area most of her •life.She mar ril'd John Bookout ; December 22, 1928. They have | one daughter, Biliie Rae Wil-j liams, and 2 grandchildren -1 Douglas Williams and Barbara i Choate.I * ' t,. L' • v v t % *Rose and her* 87 year old father live on her farm west of Council Hill. She had to take over managing the farm, as well as working at White Stag after her husbands death several years ago.Ros e is a vital, outgoing person, you never hear her complain even tho she is on the go continually. She lives 12 miles from Checotah and rides U) work in a car pool. Even oh very icy and snowy mornings, Rose will manage to be at work.After retirement,. At this time he had been a resident of El Reno, Oklahoma for the past 20 years..
