Among the events during the 0 Christmas week was the reception ^ tendered to the Woman's club of h Fish Creek and their husbands by ‘ the Ephraim Men’s club. This was „a held on Wednesday evening last P week In ' the Ephraim Moravian b church. The reception commenced with a brief recreational program 1 presided over by Mr. S. M. Hogen-soti, president of the club. America the Beautiful was sung followed by a prayer. There wa^ theh a duet by Mrs. S. Hogenson and -Mrs. Clyde Helgeson, the latter of Pisli Creek.A reading was given by Miss- Ella Mae Goodlet after which Mr. H. D. Hogenson sang a solo, “The Skipper of St. .Ives.*' This was followed by another duet by Mrs. S. Hogenson and Mrs. C. HelgeBofc. Rev. George Westphal then gave a short address on the Island of Jamaica where he was horn. At the conclusion of the program the guests and friends ■ gathered intp the Sunday school room which contained four tables neatly decorated with greens and red candles. The '^reparation of the refreshments was placed in the expert hands of Mr. Peder Knudson. Supper was. served and 49 guess and members of the Men’s club. Oyster stew, angel fbod 6ake, coffee and ice cream furnished the major portion of the refreshments. ; Mr. H. ;!R. Holand was the toastmaster and delighted all- with his witty manner. Several Bhort speeches were made, among them being talks by- Mrs. Woerfeli president of the Fish Creek Woman’s club; Mrs. Lund-I berg, Mrs. Stock, Mr. Harry Schuyler, Mr. H. Hogenson, S. M. Hogen-son, Mr. John Peterson. A very enjoyable evening was Bpent by all.OnANew Year's eve three services were held at the Moravian church.At nine o’clock a stereoptican lecture entitled, “The Master’s .Love,” was given. At 10:30 Love Feast was served. The Love Feast is an old Moravian custom i nwhich buns and coffee are served. Texts consisting of a Bible verse and hymn were dra\vn for the New Year. The officers of the* church and variousofficers of the church and various or-•ganizatious of the church gave thoir reports. Election of ‘ officers was held. Mr. H. D. Hogenson was elected Elder for a term of three years, and Mr. Peder Knudson was elected Trustee for a term of three years. Miss Olive Anderson was reelected Secretary of Church Council. After a general discussion of church matters the meeting adjourned.
