“Wings” Broadcasts: Christmas Program Over Army NetworkFRANKFURT, Germany — ThoWings Over Jordan choir, nowwith the USO in the European theatre of operations, was selected to provide the special Christmas broadcast over the Armed Forces Radio Services network.Originating from station AFN in Frankfurt, the program was recorded and made available to American radio stations. The special program for the occupation army in Europe consisted of carols, spirituals and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's “Messiah.” The broadcast was directed by Rev. Glenn T. Settle, founder of the group, and conducted by Miss Hatty e Easley.Wings Over Jordan will complete its extended tour of Europe about the middle of January, and expects to be back in the United States about the first of February to resume its regular Sunday morning broadcasts over the Columbia network. .
