Four years ago 11 the bespectacled North Carolinian adopted the system of announcing 13 numbers by singing the song titles.Kyser enrolled as a student of law at University of North Carolina in lt;1924, but fate made him a maestro in- 1 stead. In the Fall of 1928, when the I campus found Itself without a dance band Kay, a natural bom leader, organized one. The group grew from six to ten men and played with such success for college affairs that serious consideration was given to making the organization permanent.After playing for more than forty colleges, the aggregation branched Into hotel, night spot, theatre and ballroom engagements, then into radio and Its final fame. The enagement at the County Center this Sunday Is the first single presentation of Kyser and his orchestra In the entire country since he has won radio fame.Featured vocalists In the Kyser aggregation Include Glnny Simms, charming songstress who has one of the most unusual vocal ranges in the singing world today. Glnny can sing a low oontralto or a mezzo-soprano with equal ease.
