Release of Mr. Humphreys.Hon. Andrew Humphreys, fcho was recently on trial before the Military Commission in this city, jointly, with Messrs. Howies, Milligan and Horsey, was released on Sat unlay morning by order of Major General Hovey, and in the evening he left for his home in Greene county. We understand that the finding of the Commission In the case of Mr. humphreys was confinement during the war, at bard labor. This ver-i diet was entirely at the disposal of the inili-| tary commandant of this department, cither to approve, modify or ovcrryle. The sentence was modified so as lo release Mr. Humphreys from confinement but he is re-{ RtrictedTu row townships in his county during the war—the one in which be resides , and the other in which he does business.— This decision was arrived at by GeneralHovey, after a full review of the testimony upon the tvial, and all the circumstances attending two alleged complicity with the treasonable designs charged upon certain members of a secret political oignnizntion known as the Sons of Liberty.—Stafc tine!.
