The Hagenbeek-Waliace shows have been purchased at receiver’s sale by Peru interests, it is anouneed, and Peruvians are in an ecstacy of dcdigid. Concerning the transaction. which is expected to put the Miami county capital the circus map again in boid red letters, the Preu Chronicle says:The Carl Hagenbeck-Wallace Great circus is again the property of Peru interest, tie.* show having been purchased in its entirety, including: the title and good will, by Jerry Mugivan and Bert Bowers, proprietors of the John Robinson circus, which lias itspaid for the show has not been an-j nouneed by the purchasers. |Messrs. It has' not been announced as to which mem-jber of the firm will take direct charge, of the different properties. The John! Robinson circus will continue its head j quarters in Peru under the five year; contract with B. E. Wallace. The1 fact that the circus farm at West Baden was not purchased may neees-! sitate a change of winter quarters' from that p lace for the Hagenbeck- j Wallace shows eventually. It is stated at the office of the John Robinson ! shows hat neither the quarters of | West Baden or the Peru quarters are sufficient large to accommodate bothproperties. IAnnouncement that the Hagenbeck-jheadquarters at the Wallace farm. The llagonbeck-Wallaeo circus was sold Saturday at West Baden by receiver John War ! under order of the federal court. IISealed bids were submitted and pro-’ posals were made by the Ringlings and other circus men throughout the' country. The proposal of the Peru circus men was considered the highest and best by the receiver and; Messrs. Mugivan and Bowers were in-; formed accordingly, and later made preparations for assuming possession14of the property. 1The sale did not affect the farm4property at West Baden owned by Kd Ballard, who was the principal i\vI’o.r of the Hagenbeck-Wallace1 shows, hut for the present the property will i e quartered at the Ballard circus farm, which is between West Ba um and French Lick. The priceWallace property was purchased by Messrs. Mugivan and Bowers is received with much satisfaction bv Peru*people in general, who have un-1 bounded faith in the proprietors and their good will towards Pern. The1iPeru, showmen have been among the most successful in the country. They 1 operated to a financial advantage thru ♦he difficult season of last year while many of the other big shows lost money. That they will make a pro-, nouneed success of the Hagenbeck-Wallace shows is taken for granted. Mr. Mugivan was financially connected with the Hagenbeck-Wallace prop-perty several years ago, becomingidentified at the time Col. B. E. Wal-, lace and his allied interest took over the Carl Hagenbeck wild animalshow. IH. S. ATHLETICS MAPPED OUT FOR INDIANABv Associated Press ♦LA PORTE. Ind., Jan. 3—Warnings
