ROOT’S OPERA HOUSE.The improvement* And repairs on Mercantile Util, being; now complete,Mr. Root ha* placed it in the hands ofDanvers Co. the popular theatrical managers, who will inaugurate the amusement season at that place with “Rice’a Hurpruw Partv,”a first-class combination, January 14th.Danvars Co. are resolved to play nonebat the best troupes, such as have a national reputation, and at such intervals as will best subserve the interest of the amusement-loving public. They will be particular about the character of the plays presented and will allow nothing on the stage to which any exception can be takes by the most refined and critical audience. Mercantile Hail has always been a popular place ef amusement and will be still more so in the future, under its new name of Koet’s Opera House. As arranged and improved, with good stage and fine scenery, it is the most complete theatre in Alton. • '
