PIKE’S OPERA-HOUSE.A performance of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin that seemed to -thoroughly satisfy the audience assembled, was given at the Pike yesterday afternoon, and its repetition in the evening again elicited unmistakable sdgns of approval from a rather generous gathering of enthusiasts. In the stage adaptation of Mrs. Stowe’s famous story, much of its intrinsic^strength has, of course, been lost, but for the present day play-goers, the majority of whom, It Is safe to presume, are not fafhiliait with the book, 4t is one of -the most interesting known to the drama. Mr. Davis' eompanyQs fully equal to its requirements, and the performances given yesterday were all that could have been expected under the circumstances. The singing of the Hyer sisters wa# especially pleasing, and the Eva ol little Mamie Freeman, quite good.Matinees will be given Thursday and Saturday.
