While he does not say magnetism is not an element in the “imponderable” mysticism, he says he is unable to convince himself that it has anything whatever to do in the success of his experiments. He argues that the strange influence iB a science in the strictest sense, and is a branch that within the past few decadeB has developed with great rapidity and has been introduced in many of the hospitals and curative institutions of France with phenomenal success. He believes it can be understood physiologically and is the influencing of the higher mental faculties as seated in the cerebral hemispheres.The professor selected as his subject a young man of splendid physical and mental developments.
