— - - -— *■ ■■■■Thanks.9It becomes not Only our duty, but a pleasure to return our sincere thanks to our clever friend, Mr. Seaborn Montgomery, for a box of nice, .fresh porkj such as spare-riba, back bones, ect., including a large country ham; also several of the largest turnips, raised in Taylor county, as a Christmas present which was received by express on the 21st of December.' .We could not think that our friends hadaentirely forgotten us, and in this 'in* stance we are reminded of the high esteem in which an editor is held by his friends in the country. We cannot express onr gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery, for this', and -other acts of kindness to the family of the senior editor of this paper, as onr appreciation is beyond expression,-and never to be forgotten. Mr'Montgoinery is one of the besfsnd most substantial farms of Tay lor county, whose borne productions are abundant and in' -whose family there is joy and happiness. May he aud his family live long and .may their fields the present year yield*.an abundant harvest. - . '
