The afternoon was spent in embroidering initials on tea towels for the bride-to-be and in writing advice for her A contest was also enjoyed.Miss Lavonne Rehbein brought in a large box decorated in pink, yellow and green and presented it to the honoree by reciting a poem. In the box were many useful gifts for the home of the bride-to-be lor which she thanked the givers.A lunch was served carrying out the color scheme. Those present included Mrs. Hilma Norene, Edna and Theodora, Mrs. Clel! Rylander, Mrs. Harry Gehring, Mrs. Robert Thulin, Mrs. Clark Main, Mrs. Ed Thuline, Mrs. Irl ! Norene and Mabel. of Altona; Mrs. Stanley Adams, of Oneida; Mrs, Lester Rehbein and Lavonne. of Galesburg, and Mrs, Robert Selfridge, of Blandinsville. Mrs. Harry Olson, of Altona, and Mrs. Virgil Gray, of Galesburg, were unable to attend.GIVE PARCEL SHOWER.A delightful dinner party and parcel shower at the home of Mr and Mrs. H S. Brown Sunday honored Mr, and Mrs. Elmer Byers, of Oneida, who were recently married and who soon afterward lost their home by fire.A two-course dinner was served at ' quartet tables and between courses each guest told an appropriate joke.After dinner Mrs. Allegra Younquist presented Mr. Byers with an imitation bride’s bouquet.In an original poem Mrs. Mary Bloomquist presented Mrs. Byers with other gifts. After a short business meeting a demonstration on making fruit cake was given by Marjorie Swanson.The remainder of the afternoon was spent in playing games. The next meeting will be »sf demonstration of hooked and braided rugs.Alice Tarleton* Grace Lofgren, Margaret Miller, Hortense and Alodra Austin, Mary Jane Molberg and Marjorie Swanson attended the 4-H club rally in Galesburg last Thursday.LOSE TO CAMBRIDGE.Altona-Oneida Indies lost in a hard fought game to the Cambridge Country Kings here at the high school gym Monday evening by a score of 71 to 42.
