*+-INTERESTING VISITORFROM PORTLAND HEREMrs. Katherine Neal Simmons of | Portland, Oregon, is an interesting visitor here. She has been the: house guest for the past week of Mrs. 8. C. Parsons and Is now spending the remaining part of her | visit with her father, J. T. Neal ' who has recently moved to Abilene to reside permanently. Mrs. Simmons is a s.ngor of note os well as a poetess. Along civic lines it is | said that on various occasions she* has represented Portland with re-i nown.j Mr. Simmons is a member of the hoard of the Portland Rose Society, and for many years she has assisted in the success of the Rose Festivals of which Portland, Oregon is so noted. She will leave next week for Fort Worth where she will he entertained at the Horse Show, being an equestrian as well as a singer. Many of her admirers heard; her with pleasure at the Episcopal Church Sunday morning where 1 she gave one of her beautiful vocal i numbers.
