Mr.Meyer of Manton, Mr. Hannenand Mr. Perkett.Whereas, The business men of Traverse City gathered in banquet under the auspices of the board of trade ofTraverse Citv, having for somemonths recognized that railway transporlation rates to and from Traverse C ty in particular, and all of Northern Michigan to the markets cf the east have been '‘uch a*- to operate(ult; ainst us in securing the necessaryindustries for the full development of our citv. These rates hive barredus from holding equal rank with oth ersections of the northwest less fafvor ably situated, have operatedagainst us as a wholesale center,drpiived the growers of produce oftheir just and reasonable profits in all they transport to other markets,fdepriving the manufacturers too. froma margin of profit in shipoi-- their products to southern and eastern centers, because of discrimination in freight rates ar reiterated in the able and comprehensive capers of the gentlemen who have addressed us thisoI!(•Ifevening.Therefore, he it Resolved.
