Show Palos Rich Lore In TableauA village with a rich past, North Palos by name, recounted her long history recently to honor her veteran residents and to enlighten newcomers to the area.Nearly 200 people gathered in the Dorn school, 7840 W. 92nd st. to see “Tableau In Time,** an historical sketch of the unincorporated area of North Palos. As the four-act tableau was presented, the “voice of North Palos” told of her life from her early memories of Indian camps, the visits of Louis Joliet and Father Jacques Marquette, the early settlers and the Indian Wars, to the present growing community.In early January Mrs. G. D.Pearce, 8860 W. 101st St., began collecting material for the historical sketch. Some of the background material was obtained from books/ she said, but much of the material was obtainedafrom about 30 families who remembered early days in the community. ,The material was given to Mrs. Bobert Burns, 9554 S. 89th ave., who in a few hours one morning she said, organized the material into a half-hour tableau. Some interesting and unusual items were discovered by the research, she said.
