Winnie the Pooh' opens Friday at CCCC“Winnie the Pooh and his friends from 100 Acre Wood are coming to the stage.The GCCC children’s theater is presenting the play at 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday,and 2 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium of the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building.Box office hours in the college fine arts lobby will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays. Tickets also will be available there one hour before each show. The reservation number will be 276-9548. Admission is $5 each for adults, and $4 for children, students and senior citizens.The Kristen Sergei play is based on A.A. Milne’s original story of the well-known honey-loving bear. Dennis Johnson. GCCC technical theater instructor, is directing.Justin Parlette, a GCCC student and Garden City resident, is taking the role of Pooh. Takaaki Otawa, a student from Japan, will portray Christopher Robin.Other cast members, all of Garden City, include AHyson Hamilton as Piglet; Tasha Clark as Owl; Kris Sisk, playing Eeyore; Dawn Pittillo and Kolby Kelly, as Kanga and Roo; and Rachel Bander, hopping into the role of Rabbit.David Irwin, Garden City, is the narrator. Kristian Pittillo, Roderick Howard, Davin Hamilton and Rachel Howard, all of Garden City, will portray otheranimals.“This will be a fully-staged presentation of A. A. Milne’s enchanting story,” said GCCC Theater Arts Director Steve Thorson.
