Progrom Given By Anchor ClubSophomore members of the Anchor Club presented ;in old-time melodrama, “The Miner’s Daughter. or “Evil Heaps Its Just Reward, at a recent meeting of the Pilot Club at the Rufus Garrett Hotel.The Anchor Club, composed of high school students, is sponsored by the Pilot Club.Mrs. Lucille Hyde presided at the meeting and Mrs. Oma Arnold gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.Mrs. Ann Phillips, Pilot chairman of Anchor Club, introduced the Anchor president. Paula Fruet. and the faculty sponsor. Miss Lynn Tillery.Sophomores taking part in the melodrama were Margaret Mayfield, Julie McKinney. Mary Ethel Harper. Mary Beth Carter, Jane Alderson, Susan Hartman, Mary Lu Smith, Shirley Langford. Melanie Lacy, Donna Lowery, Sandy Lynn and Maria Mancuso.Mrs. Wayne Smith was a guest at the meeting.
