The broadcast is carried by the Don Lee network of the Mutual System, covering the western half of the United States, by transcription, and is heard in that section one week later, on Saturdays at 3:00p. M. • ■ lt;■/This revealing series of broadcasts which portray the life stories of prominent American Negroes in words and song, is the crowning creation of Reverend Glenn T. Settle, veteran radio personality, who created the universally beloved WINGS OVER JORDAN.For 10 years. WINGS OVER JORDAN was aired over the CBS network, retiring from that chain in October. 1947. at which time. Reverend Settle announced his plans to Create a new series of broadcasts, the one which his famous organization is currently producing weekly, over the Mutual Broadcasting System.So great is the interest manifested by the country in this most vital series of broadcasts, that it was instantly taken under the sponsorshin of the United States Treasury Department. Officials of the Treasury Department acclaim this series the most attractive yet to be secured for the purpose of foeiia}og attention on the value of United States Savings Bonds.
