For the Gazette.True to Ms Word.A few weeks before the last Presidential election, Andrew Humphreys returned from Utah to his home in this county. He was then visited by neighbors with many friendly hands. Men of different political views interrogated him as to his opinion of the result of the then impend' ing Presidential election and state of our country generally. In reply to these questions the undersigned was at that time informed by both loyal Eepublieans and true party Democrats, that Mr. Humphreys made the following speech in reply:“I believe that Abraham Lincoln will be*elected ae the next President of the United States Then the South will rebeL It will4then be Mr. Lincoln’s DUTY to raise an army to subdue them. When it comes to that,*’ said Mr. A., with great emphasis.4lt;I AM WITH THE SOUTH BY GODf' Now if Andy did not give utterance to such sentiments, he is kindly invited todeny them. UNION.
