The contest involves a free concert starring Tommy James for two winning schools.A trio of the top pop groups on the current* music scene will perform at two special rock concerts in the Chicago area early this spring. The concerts, featuring Tommy James The Shondells. The Litter, and Baby Huey and the Baby Sitters, will be offered free to two winning high schools in the areaThe two-hour concerts will be emceed by popular WLS Radio disk jockey Larry Lujack. with attendance limited to student* of the winning schools and their teachers.Additionally, schools that win the talents of the three groups will be presented with a check for $500. to be used to support sports or social activities. college scholarships, or in any manner the schools desire.To enter the contest, sponsored by Pine Bros, cough drops, a product of Beech-Nut, Inc.. high school students must mail empty cartons of Pine Bros, cough drops, or the words “Pine Bros Cough Drops hand printed on a plain piece of paper. 3 x 5 to “Rock Concert. Box 2. Blair. Nebraska 68008 Contestants may also deposit entries in specially provided containers in the record department of participating Sears Roebuck and Co. slora*. or at drug stores.The contest begins on February 16. 1970 and ends on March 21. 1970. All entries must be postmarked no later than the closing date or deposited at Sears or Walgreens by that same date. Entrants must print the name of their school on the back of each envelope or package containing the empty Pine Bros, cartons.Announcement of winners will take place the week of April 6. 1970. Winners will be chosen on the basis of the greatest number of entries in direct ratio to their official school enrollment. One winner will be declared for schools with enrollment of 500 and over and another w.nner for schools with enrollment of 499 or under. Thus small schoolsas large schools.The contest is open to all high schools, public, private or parochial, grades 9 through 12. within a 100 mile radius of Chicago, excluding the state of Wisconsin. Students may send in any number of entries for as many times as they wish during the contest period.
