Arcanum Assemblies.The success which has attended theA .***%*•• : ■ 1 ' , : *flt;Tr' • ' .♦. * ?V. .. l* T* •*-' j. ‘ • ..n T V I .. tassemblies given under the auspices of the Royal Arcanum in this town, is very gratifying to the committee and reflects credit upon Assabet council. The expression of public opinion in re gard to them is forcibly shown by the fact that while at the first assembly there were present 125 guests, the attendance steadily increased until at the last one given Feb. 11, there were present 226 guests. The features of these social gatherings were excellent music, dancing and whist playing, thereby affording amusement for all.The grand march was led by Regent Sullivan' and Mrs. Sam’l Lawton, assisted by Sam’l Lawton and Mrs. Sullivan, a pleasing feature of which was the forming of the letters V. M. C.Assabet council has paid to the families ot deceased brothers in Maynard $15,000 and more stands to its credit in the general tund. To the members of Assabet council and the public who have so cheerfully aided in promoting the success of the assemblies the committee extends its hearty thanks.
