The Rev. Donald Lee RayELLSWORTH - TheRev. Donald Lee Ray.92, passed away Feb.15,2018. at his home in Ellsworth. He was born Jan. 21,192b, in Wichita to Howard Lee and Lena(Marino) Ray.Donald served his country in the U.S.*4P'Army Air Force. He married Beverly Dean Sawhill in Wichita.March 24,1946. Heowned a grocery storein Wichita until 1958,when he felt called to the ministry. He served Arlington and Pretty Prairie churches while attending Sterling College. Alter graduation, he attended theUniversity of DubuqueTheological Seminary’in Dubuque. Iowa. After finishing the seminary' in 1965, he took his first and only past oral calling at First Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. He served there for 26 yearsbefore retiring in 1991. Donald is survived byhis daughters, Kathy Curts, of Fort Worth. Texas, Niki Svaty (Don), of Ellsworth, Diana Liskey (Bill), of Fort Collins. Colo., and Carol Cheyney (Ron of N ewi on; sons, Dan Ray (Bonnie), of Ellsworth, and 'Ben Ray ■ (Tiffany), of Derby;54 grandchildren; 35 gr ea t - gr ande hildren; sister, Carolyn Ledford of Nocona, Texas; and sister-in-law, PhyllisRay, of Wichita.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; son-in-law, David; twobrothers; and one sister.Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth.
