W ' mm - - —sundry damages.A Bazaar, in connection with the Church at St. Mary’s for the sale of useful and ornamental articles, was held in the infant schoolroom on Friday and Saturday, the 4th and 5th inst. The room was tastefully decorated ; the stalls were laden with a variety of articles, and laid out to the best advantage ( including a stall of pot-plants sent down from the Abbey Gardens, also a refreshment stall,) and presided over by Mesdames Anderson, Jackson, Edwards, Handley,Bluett, and Holgate, and the Misses Duff (2, ) Tregarthen, Hamilton, Heynes, Dale, Sherris, Holgate, Jenkin, Stidiford, Mc.Farland, and Nance. The bazaar was opened at 2 p.m., by Mr. W. M. Hoskin, who briefly referred to the past labour of their esteemed pastor, the Rev. J. White, and expressed sympathy for his late severe illness, from which he is partially recovered ; also, that the object of the bazaar was to present td him something in the shape of a substantial testimonial. The amount realised both days was about£71.
