Coodhopp Temperance Society.The Society met pursuant to idjonm-ment, on Monday evening, Feb. 7, l's.oD,at the meeting-home, lr. Geo. Golds-berrv in the Chair.The meeting being called to order, the minutes of the previous meeting were called for by the Chair, and rend by the Secretary.On motion, the committee 011 Solicitation was called for, and reported favorably.On motion, the committee of three appointed to solicit Speakers for tic Society were called for, and rcpoite I favorably.wThe Chair then introduced (lev. Mr.bailor, of Greenfield, to the Society, who opened with prayer, and entertained the Society with an excellent address on•mspirituous liquors and their ofi x*ts nj on society.On motion, the Rev. .T. Sargent was called for, who entertained th; Societywith a spicy address.On motion, a vote of thanks was tendered to the speakers for their excellentefforts before the Society.On motion, the Fledge was called for,and read by the Secretary, after which aninvitation wae extended fur signatures, which resulted in the addition of thirty-Vfour names, making in all, i p to this time, one hundred and thirty four whohave signed the Pledge.On motion, an invitation wye extended to Revs. Wiseman and Bronson, of Greenfield, to addrcs the Society.On motion, adjourned to meet on nextMonday evening.GEO.
