FRANK STONE BITTEN lt;BY A MULE SUNDAY (Frank Stone, residing onemile west of Myrtle Springs,was bitten four times on j the leg by a mule Sunday jafternoon and the injury re-j ceivef laid him up in bed for several days with fever. The animal, which he had just lt;purchased, lecame Infuriated isoon after he got home with him and attacked Mr. Stone, who was knocked down and doubtless would havp been more seriously injured had not Homer Page happened along and came to his rescue. The mule was struck over the head, one eye being knocked out and the skull crushed, before he would desist from the attack. The mule died and the brain was sent to the pasteur institute at Austin for examination for rabies, a re- .port received from there being to the effect that there j was no symptom of that' dreaded malady.
