To the Public. In view of the fact that the Cooks and Waiters’ Alliance has seen fit to declare a boycott against the Americas Bakery and Restaurant, we desire to call attention of the people of Ilak erafleld and Kern to the facts of the case. So far as the bakery is concerned there is absolutely no ground for It whatever. We have two men employed In the bakery, both white men and old residents here. No Chinese work there at all.In the restaurant we have one Chinese employed in the kitchen. In the dining room we have three persons era ployed, one n»an and two ladies. We employed the Chinaman only when It was simply Impossible to get competent white help. The white union help we bad before were not only Incompetent but Insolent to us. and even ordered us out of our own kitchen. We were not able to conduct our own business at all.Other places are employing Chinese help and all we ask la the same treatment as Is accorded .them, and ettbmlt our case to the public.F. SOHURRA.C.
