AUGUSTA (AP) — The state was urged today to help out in a plan to establish a summer resort and conference center for foreign diplomats and correspondents on Peaks Island inCasco Bay.The Casco Bay Island Development Association, a nonprofit organization, proposes to develop the $5 million resort on 160 acres on the oeeanside of 1 the island.Sen. Horace A. Hildreth Jr., R-Falmouth, asked the Senate to grant the association $5,000 to help it in its efforts to raise funds.Hildreth said the resort would be used by diplomats, correspondents and other members of foreign delegations in the United States.
