*Faculty Presents AssemblyWe went .“South of the Border” with -the faculty Friday morning during the “hash” ' program. All they lacked was that western drawl.. By this we mean the pantomime in charge of Mr: Brqwn, Lady Vere De Vere (Miss Fenton) had just come to the unsettled plains - of America from across. Her first meeting with Handsome Harry (Mr. Loomis) resulted in love at first sight. Wild Nell (Miss Phillippi),. a native of the plains was also in love with Handsome Harry, and wasshe mad!! Indian Chieif (Mr. Goodrich) • arid his associate, Bill Durham (Mr. Kohnken) planned to kidnap Lady Vere- De Vere. They hid behind a prairie dog hut (Mr. Abbey) .and waited for her. (The atidience was spellbound.) Soon they 'had captured the Lady and' were making, tracks for their village, but closely followed .by Handsome Harry and Wild Nell. Hula-.Hiila, the Indian woman, decreed the death penalty for Lady Vere De Vere. With a last burst of speed Handsome Harry arrived on the scene and killed the kidnappers. Poor .Wild Nell, seeing her own battle was lost heroically . took her own. life to let the hero and Lady Vere De . Vere live happily ever after. (By this time the audience was in tears.)In the second sketch we Visited the-Dionnes in Callendar. Of course they were all there and we were fortunate in being visited by Dr. Dafoe. .As usual the* quints werenot able to see the •audience’. One does not knbw how really fortunate they are to see five busy little sis-JteiSL______• The cast of characters was as follows :Gecile—Miss Crone.Annette—Mrs. Rice. *•Emille—Miss . Tymeson..Marie—Miss * Mason.Yvonne—Miss Updyke.Th§ ’Nurse—Mrs. Hillman.Dr. 'Dafoe—Mr. Abbey.‘Mr.*Brown also gave us a preview* of next year’s cheerleaders^ We really believe the eighth grade has some talent.The program was ended with two short 'movie reels, both of .which were very good.
