Touching the bases this week, it should be noted that there was a concert in Cedar Rapids recently featuring Wishbone Ash, REO Speed wagon and Flock,If that sounds to you like a trio of backup bands, you are absolutely right. REO and Wishbone Ash played the night before along with Brownsville Station as warmups for Rare Earth in a Des Moines concert.But the energy shortage dictated that the cheapest route between two points is the shortest lin e, so i went to the CR concert.REO was good, Flock was stale and Wishbone Ash was loud. Other than that, there isn't much that can be said about the concert except that the featured act, Wishbone Ash, came all the way from England only to be busted for drugs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.It must have been the highlight of their tour.
