THOUSANDS TO INSPECT PLANT ♦ -Bell- Telephone Plans Immense Public Reception for Next Week Wednesday.Between 30,000 and 40,000 invitations will be sent out this week for a lecoptton which the Central New York Telephone and Telegraph Company will tcndei to the public on Wednesday of next week, marking the formal opening of the building i ccently cqmplotod on Montgomery atieot,On tbo occasion of the reception the new building will be thrown opcp from 3 to 5 o’clock hi the afternoon and for a couple of hours’1-In the evening.A general directory containing the names of nearly 40,000 subscriber** ia'being lssuod by the Central New Yoik nnlt;i Umpire State Telephone and Telegraph companies. It is the moat complete dhefctoiy ever issued by the Bell companies and besides giving tho names of all subscribers and a list of over 2,000 toll stations it contain much general telephone infoi-mation. Each ono of the 40,ft00 subscribers within the teiritory of tho two companies will receive one of the^e books be-foio the expiration of ono week.The total number of books to be distributed in Syiacuse will be 3,500. Utica will receive 4,000; Auburn, 2,GC0; Watertown, 2.500; Cortland, 2,100; Oneonta, 1,600, Home, 1,300, and Onclda, 1,000.The edition is*the largest tlmt was ever Issued by tbo Syracuse Bell companies. Two carloads or twenty-four tons of papor were used,In getting it out.
