The bill ite of alfairs of the Mc-Madison, Feb. 11.—Erastus Gilt-ner, a well-known farmer of this countv, met with a fatal accident in4r ’Saluda township yesterday afternoon. He went out on his farm to cut down a large oak tree which had been partially blown over bv a recent storm and * *in some inexplainable manner the tree fell on, him, breaking both his legs in several places and mashing his body in a horrible manner. His long ab-scence fiom the house 7caused uneasiness and a search was instituted by his wife, two daughters and a son, which resulted in the finding of the man as above described.
